The headteacher welcomes visitors and emphasises a warm, inclusive, well-rounded education built on the ACE values (Aspiration, Citizenship, Excellence). The school joined the Quality First Education Trust in 2017 and was graded 'Good' by Ofsted in October 2023; the message highlights strong behaviour, ambitious curriculum, and active involvement of pupils in school decision-making, with a call to book school tours and contact the school.
Churchfields operates an Additionally Resourced Class (ARC) for 18 children across two classes. The ARC is an integral part of the school with access to the same opportunities as mainstream pupils. Where appropriate, ARC pupils receive specialist art, computing and PE lessons; they also benefit from an afternoon of Forest School each week and swimming lessons at Beckenham Spa. ARC classes are staffed by qualified teachers and Learning Support Assistants, and promote independence by not providing full-time 1:1 support. The curriculum and timetable are designed to nurture independence. The ARC includes a dedicated Sensory Room and sheltered garden area, plus a hygiene suite for intimate care. Inclusion into mainstream classes is possible for ARC pupils. Weekly visits from a Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) and Music Therapist, with links to SENDAT, Educational Psychologist and other professionals. Progress is continually assessed, and updates are shared with families via the Seesaw app.
