Featherby provides a range of SEND interventions including 1-1 support outside the classroom (BRP – Better Reading Partnerships) three times per week, Phonics support, Language Link screening and group work, Speech Link assessments and referrals to Speech and Language Therapy, and access to additional services such as Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. The school also describes targeted programmes and approaches (e.g., BEAM, Write from the Start, Sensory Circuits, Box Full of Feelings) and works with external supports (Marlborough Outreach Service, Medway Local Offer, KIDS, Medway Autistic Trust, MAGIC, Medway Dyslexic Trust, Medway Family Information Support) to meet diverse SEN needs. Parents/carers are encouraged to discuss concerns with the SENCO and Inclusion Lead, and resources for home support are provided.
