Head Teacher's Message

We are a values-led school. Our mission is to ensure that every Stanley High School student is given the best opportunity and support to realise their full potential and develop those skills and qualities needed to make good choices and go on to lead happy and successful lives.

Admissions Criteria

Stanley High School follows Sefton Local Authority admissions criteria (for 2025/26). The admission number is 170 per year. When more applications than places are received, the criteria are applied in this order: 1) looked after children and all previously looked after children (including care outside England and those adopted or subject to child arrangements/special guardianship orders) and those needing specialist facilities; 2) siblings already attending the school and who will still be there in September 2026; 3) children of staff (staff employed at a Southport Learning Trust school for two+ years or recruited to fill a vacant post); 4) distance – other requests that name the school as a preference. Tie-breaker is shortest walking distance. In-year admissions are handled via Sefton Admissions.
