Welcome to Wixams Academy. Our vision, Excellence for All, reflects our commitment to helping every student excel academically and personally. With outstanding teaching and robust pastoral support, we aim to provide a broad, challenging curriculum and a thriving co-curricular programme to empower every pupil to reach their full potential.

Curriculum Highlights

Rigorous, knowledge-rich curriculum Strong emphasis on humanities and sciences to develop knowledge and debate Around 50% of GCSE entries are graded 5 or above in Maths and English, indicating strong student progress

SEND Provision

Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) provision at Wixams Academy includes a SEND Co-ordinator (SENDCo) and team, a Graduated Approach to support, Quality First Teaching as the key to progress, a Learning Support Centre available during the school day for students who require a time out of the classroom or a quiet place to work, and access to interventions and external agencies as needed. If a student has an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), the plan is shared with teaching staff and reviewed annually; reviews may be interim if needs change. Staff are trained in SEND, and there is collaboration with families, outside agencies, and Professionals. Support may include one-to-one or small-group interventions, movement breaks, and transfer of information to Pupil Passports.
