Curriculum Highlights

KS3 offers in English, Mathematics, Science, Spanish, Geography, History, Drama, Music, Product Design, Food, Textiles, Art, Computer Science, Computer Graphics, PE, PSHCE, and RE with hours per fortnight listed for each subject. KS4 offers a broad spectrum of curriculum pathways from traditional GCSEs through to BTEC and vocational courses; options designed to meet cohort needs; includes consideration of EBacc and a structured seven-block model for Year 10. Reading is emphasised through a Reading Room and reading strategies across the curriculum, with a focus on building literacy and vocabulary for GCSE study and beyond.

Admissions Criteria

Benfield School has a Published Admission Number (PAN) of 207 in each year group. Admissions authority is NEAT Academy Trust. Applications for entry to Year 7 and in-year admissions up to Year 11 should be made on Newcastle City Council’s school application form and returned to Newcastle City Council. There is a right of appeal if a place is refused. PAN and appeal deadlines are published by Newcastle City Council.
