Admissions Criteria

Admissions are overseen by the Truro and Penwith Academy Trust as the admitting authority. The college participates in the Local Authority’s co-ordinated admission schemes for secondary transfer and in-year admissions. The Published Admission Number (PAN) for Year 7 in 2025-26 will be 250. Children with a statement of special educational needs naming Helston Community College will be admitted to the school, regardless of the number on roll. Children in care directed to the school by the Local Authority will be admitted to the school. The Trustees will operate an equal preference scheme as defined in the School Admissions Code. The admissions policy is located in the Policies section under College Information. All applications must be made directly to the applicant’s home authority on the Common Application Form (CAF). The CAF and supporting information will be available electronically on the Local Authority’s website or in paper form on request. There is no supplementary information form required by the Governors. To arrange a tour, contact Reception on 01326 572685. On receipt of confirmation of a place by the Local Authority, an enrolment form can be obtained from Reception and the relevant Pupil Support Assistant will contact parents to arrange a start date.
