Curriculum Highlights

Reading, writing and maths are core to the curriculum; reading is the starting point. Each half term, every year group focuses on a different topic supported by challenging texts and immersive experiences. Topics are linked to history, geography, RE and other subjects. Year 4 focus on London with the reading text 'The London Eye Mystery' and a residential visit to London. SMSC (Social Moral, Spiritual & Cultural), PSHE (Personal, Social, Health Education) and FBV (Fundamental British Values) are taught within topics. Maths is taught discreetly using a mastery approach. Knowledge Organisers are provided at the beginning of each topic. A range of feedback is provided regularly and accurately to address misconceptions. Subject leaders monitor teaching and outcomes to ensure high standards and to exceed national expectations.

Admissions Criteria

Consultation on admission arrangements 2027/2028 live between Monday 1 December 2025 and Sunday 11 January 2026. Pupils born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 are due to start primary school in September 2026. Applications open for Plymouth residents on 17 November 2025; Applications close on 15 January 2026; Late applications open on 16 January 2026; Offer day is 16 April 2026; Deadline to accept offers is 23 April 2026.
