SEND Provision

Saint Leonard’s Catholic School is an inclusive school. The Learning Support department ensures all students receive the support required to access high-quality teaching. The school follows the SEN Code of Practice 2015 and uses its best endeavours to remove barriers to learning, providing ‘additional to and different from’ support as needed, with involvement from students and families in decision-making at all stages.

Admissions Criteria

St Leonard’s uses oversubscription criteria with priority given to Catholic children. The admissions authority is the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, with the Local Governing Committee delegated to administer policy. The local authority coordinates the admissions process on behalf of the Trust. The school welcomes applications from non-feeder primary schools and non-Catholic families; feeder primary schools are listed, and Catholic character is expected to be supported by families.
