The Orchard is a Resourced Provision for children with communication and interaction needs including autism. It is school-led, requires EHCPs, uses named rooms (Pear, Apple, Peach, Cherry, Plum), supports integration with mainstream classes, and communicates daily with parents via home/school diaries.
Admission priority is given to looked after children and previously looked after children, followed by those with exceptional social or medical needs, then sisters/brothers of current pupils, and all other children. Oversubscription is decided by distance from home to the main entrance, with random selection if distances are equal; EHCPs naming the school are admitted through separate processes.
