Keeley Christon, Head of School, welcomes visitors and describes Acres Hill as a school where children are at the heart of every decision, with a broad, all-round education, pastoral care, high expectations and core values; aims for children to leave with pride, a love of learning and life-ready experiences.
The school provides speech and language interventions, including Pre-teach vocabulary, Intensive Interaction, Attention Autism, Curiosity Programme, Core Vocabulary support, Vocabulary Improvement Programme (VIP), Narrative Intervention Programme (NIP), Leap. External agency support includes 0-5 SEND, Speech & Language Therapists, Fusion, Rowan Outreach, ASCETS team (formerly Autism Team), and Teacher of the Deaf.
Admissions are published by the Local Authority. Current pupil admission number is 30 pupils per year group, with an additional 10 places KS2 Integrated Resource (The Pride). For FS2, pupils are visited at home and have a three-day progressive transition; in-year admissions follow the Local Authority’s Co-ordinated Admission Scheme. Prospective families are encouraged to visit the school and can contact the office to arrange a visit. Transfers to other schools follow a transfer form process and the Local Authority will process applications within 15 school days.
