"Let your light shine" Matthew 5:16"
Crockerne is a Church of England primary school with a Christian ethos. The school’s vision is based on the Bible, specifically the motto “Let your light shine” from Matthew 5:16, and daily collective worship explores Christian values. The school works within the Benefice of Pill, Portbury & Easton-in-Gordano, with Christ Church, Pill and St. George’s, Easton in Gordano, and maintains links with the Kaleidoscope Multi-Academy Trust.
Headteacher Mrs Emma Bray welcomes families to a warm, nurturing and ambitious community where every child can shine. The message emphasizes safety, supportive relationships, and partnership with families to help children become confident, curious and resilient learners who achieve academically and grow in character.
The school has a Special Educational Needs and Inclusion team including a SENDCo and Learning Mentor. It provides tailored support through assessment, individual profiles and provision maps, targeted interventions, and possible withdrawal from class for focused learning. External agencies (e.g., Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, CAMHS) may be involved. An Accessibility Plan exists to enable inclusion and reasonable adjustments, with ongoing monitoring and involvement of parents and pupils.
