Head Teacher's Message

Welcome to Mount Pleasant Primary School. The Headteacher, Mrs J Blackham, invites visits and emphasises a commitment to providing a good quality education and keeping families informed about school life.

Curriculum Highlights

Curriculum is broad, balanced and differentiated to meet varied needs. Curriculum is topic-based with emphasis on belonging and real-world connections. British Values and SMSC/PSCHE are integral to the curriculum. Outdoor Education is embedded via the Wild Passport scheme and learning outdoors. Reading and phonics are central, including Little Wandle: Letters and Sounds Revised and Accelerated Reader; class novels and home reading. Recovery Curriculum is part of the school’s approach to learning. Knowledge-rich progression with themes like ‘Key of Knowledge’ and a focus on vocabulary.

SEND Provision

Resourced Provision for children with Social Communication Difficulties; up to 19 pupils; provision established within Mount Pleasant Primary School; children are included in their age-appropriate class where possible; environments include Bluebell (Key Stage 1/EYFS), Meadows (Mixed Key Stage), and Woodland (Key Stage 2); provision aims to develop social/emotional skills, language/communication, personal independence and appropriate learning behaviours.
