"Creating learning environments where every young person is engaged"
Welcome to The Meadows School. We are a generic special secondary school for students aged 11 to 19. We are co-located with a mainstream High School and aim to meet wide-ranging and specific needs in a caring, friendly atmosphere, helping students to thrive, build self-confidence, independence and succeed into adulthood.
The Meadows School provides education for students with special educational needs and disabilities. It uses a Total Communication approach and supports communication with Makaton, PECs, PODD, AAC and other strategies. It offers ELSA and Nurture interventions and SULP (Social Use of Language Programme). It works to provide access to ASDAN accreditations, and supports students in developing independence and life skills through partnerships and holistic approaches.
