Head Teacher's Message

Welcome to The Richmond upon Thames School. RTS was established to do the ordinary differently and to serve its local community. The RTS Academy Trust was set up by Harlequins FC, Haymarket Media Group, Richmond Council, Richmond upon Thames College and Achieving for Children. Core beliefs include that aspirations matter, hard work influences success, there is no substitute for exceptional teaching, intelligence is not fixed, parents/carers make a difference, and strong partnerships are essential. Our transition programme focuses on understanding each child’s strengths and needs, ensuring the right level of challenge from day one. Our curriculum is traditional and literacy/numeracy focused, with additional opportunities in digital technology, enterprise, sport and healthy lifestyles. The extended school day provides broad creative, musical, sporting, linguistic and STEM opportunities. We aim for every child to leave RTS having achieved beyond what they thought possible and ready to contribute to society. Ms Kelly Dooley, Head Teacher.
