Curriculum Highlights

Therapeutically informed environment focusing on educational achievement. Broad and balanced curriculum bespoke to each pupil's needs and EHCP. Core subjects: English, Maths, Science and Computing. Other GCSE subjects available through partnership with co-located high school. ASDAN courses including Sport and Fitness, Foodwise, Animal Care and PSD. Outdoor Education qualifications including British Trampolining, Canoeing, Swimming and Climbing. John Muir Award during Bushcraft sessions. Vocational skill development via local college providers (hairdressing and childcare). PSHE threads through the whole curriculum via assemblies, form times, Skill Building sessions and Key Worker sessions. Gatsby Benchmarks: eight benchmarks integrated into 6th Form Pathway.

Admissions Criteria

The Haven School is an independent Special School for children and young people with an EHCP where the primary need is social, emotional and mental health. Referrals for a place at our school are to be made via your child’s Local Authority.
