Curriculum Highlights

English taught daily with a book-based approach; Little Wandle, Letters and Sounds Revised phonics program; reading, writing, speaking and listening development; handwriting and spelling expectations. Mathematics aims to equip children to calculate, reason and solve problems. Specialist weekly lessons in Music, Dance and Spanish (KS2) taught by specialist teachers. Educational visits each term to museums, galleries, theatres, parks and forest schools. Extra-curricular activities including football, tennis, French, art, dance, digital leaders, multi-sports, Musical theatre, Lego and board games. Instrumental lessons (drums, flute, clarinet, violin, brass and guitar) from Year 2. EYFS then Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum with a broad, balanced, progressive approach. Reception Baseline Assessment (RBA) as statutory baseline in Reception. Assessment includes ongoing formative assessment and moderation with external schools.

Admissions Criteria

Oversubscription criteria (Reception 60 places): 1) Looked after Catholic children and previously looked after Catholic children; 2) Baptised Catholic children; 3) Looked after children and previously looked after children; 4) Children enrolled in the catechumenate; 5) Children who are members of Eastern Orthodox Churches; 6) Children who are members of other faiths, churches and denominations; 7) Any other children. Tie-breaks include: sibling on roll, parish residence (Our Lady of Lourdes, Lee), social/pastoral/medical needs, and distance from home to school.
