Temple Mill aims to develop happy, resilient and responsible individuals with opportunities to reach their full potential; the school emphasizes a nurturing, supportive atmosphere and close home–school relationships, plus specialist teaching in Spanish, music and PE.

Curriculum Highlights

Curriculum meets National Curriculum requirements for Key Stages 1 & 2; core subjects English, Mathematics, Science; foundation subjects History, Geography, Computing, Design and Technology, Art, Religious Education, Music, Physical Education, Modern Foreign Languages. Religious Education is statutory and taught as a separate subject (not in the National Curriculum) following Jigsaw RE. Spanish is taught throughout KS2 from Year 3 to Year 6. There is an emphasis on ICT across the curriculum with a focus on Computing; the school follows the Teach Computing curriculum. Individual student needs are catered for through AEN (additional educational needs), A&T (able & talented), and EAL (English as an additional language) with differentiation.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

Breakfast Club runs from 7.30am to 8.45am; After School Club runs from 3.20pm to either 4.30pm or 5.30pm; bookings must be made 24 hours in advance via Arbor; cancellations to be emailed 24 hours prior; Breakfast costs £5.75 per session; After School Club costs £5.75 to 4.30pm or £8.25 to 5.30pm; Self-Funded Nursery Session (3 hours am or pm) £16.50 per session.

SEND Provision

SEND provisions are coordinated by the school’s SENCO, with transition support, assessments and personalised interventions; the designated teacher for Looked After Children (DLAC) supports Looked After Children; involvement with parents and external agencies to tailor support.
