Curriculum Highlights

Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is an optional one-year course, completed between September and Easter during Year 12, and is worth up to 28 UCAS points. The EPQ focuses on research, critical evaluation and project management skills and students evidence their work through either a dissertation or an artefact; previous examples include projects ranging from computer builds to creative and scientific topics.

Admissions Criteria

General entry requirements: For A Level and equivalent courses (e.g., Extended Diplomas): 6 GCSEs grade 9-4 including GCSE English; For Level 3 courses: 5 GCSEs grade 9-4 including GCSE English; For Level 2 courses: 4 GCSEs grade 9-3 including GCSE English or Maths (3 in Maths or English for some courses). All post-16 students without a grade 4 or above in GCSE English and/or maths are required to continue studying these subjects. Course-specific criteria apply and will be discussed at enrolment/interview.

Financial Information

Bursaries: Available

Student places at One Sixth Form College are funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). Overseas students (outside the EU/EEA) who are not funded may be required to pay £4,000 per academic year to cover the cost of education if they are not eligible for funding.
