WVTC is a unique Vocational Training Centre that opened as a Free School in 2015. It moved into new purpose-built facilities in Ettingshall in September 2017. The Centre offers vocational training and work-related opportunities to young people aged 16-19 with an EHCP and may offer 1- and 2-day Alternative Provision placements. The aim is to prepare students for an independent and positive future, related to their interests and aspirations. Chris Potter, WVTC Centre Manager, conveys this mission.
WVTC provides a specialised and holistic education for young people aged 16-19 with identified Complex Cognitive Difficulties, with admissions by Local Authority referrals and EHCP naming WVTC; WVTC cannot accept independently funded placements.
All pupils must have an Education, Health and Care Plan naming the Centre; admissions arrangements managed by Wolverhampton City Council; WVTC can only accept referrals from Local Authorities; private funding of places is not offered.
