Curriculum Highlights

Our 'Leaders Curriculum' is designed to prepare pupils for their future life. Saxon Hill creates a joyful learning environment that inspires a love for learning and broadens horizons by extending learning beyond the classroom. We use real-world examples and first-hand experience to develop curiosity and engagement, regardless of complexity of needs. We embed key learning, knowledge and understanding through careful revisiting and reinforcing, while increasing student independence.

SEND Provision

All pupils have an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHC Plan), or attend on an assessment placement. Their plans will include the need for highly specialist provision for Physical disabilities and/or Complex Medical Needs, with associated learning or sensory needs. Working in partnership with the Health Trusts, the school provides onsite medical, physiotherapy, sensory and communication support.

Admissions Criteria

Saxon Hill Academy is an all-age (2-19) special school for children with complex medical needs and physical disabilities. Children placed at Saxon Hill will have an Educational Health and Care plan, or attend on an assessment placement. An annual Local Authority agreed Planned Places number is used; admissions are discussed with the school and Local Authority; oversubscription common; see contact details for admissions and transport services.
