Headteacher Mrs Sarah Gill welcomes visitors and describes Ivy Bank as a large school that has joined The Aspire Educational Trust. The message highlights a secure, exciting and positive environment, a broad and creative curriculum, high expectations of work and behaviour, and strong partnership with parents to keep them informed about their child’s progress.
Ivy Bank provides SEND support coordinated by the SENDCo (Mrs Katie Barber) and Assistant SENDCo (Mrs Jane Oliver). It uses a continuum of need with levels including First Concerns, SEN Support, Complex, and Specialist. The school works closely with outside agencies such as Educational Psychologists, Cheshire East Autism Support Team (CEAT), Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, and NHS Mental Health School Team (MHST). Further details are referenced in the SEND information report and Local Offer.
Admissions are managed by the Aspire Educational Trust (Admissions Authority) since 1 April 2022. The school provides full-time nursery places for children who have turned three between 1 September and 31 August of the previous year. Nursery admissions are allocated in April for September. Reception admissions are handled by Cheshire East Local Authority, and in-year admissions (Year 1–6) are also handled by Cheshire East Local Authority. An Autumn open day is held to help prospective families, and the Local Authority processes applications by mid-January for September start. Policy documents and consultation outcomes related to admissions are available via the school’s admissions pages.
