Head Teacher's Message

Welcome from Principal Katie McGuire. Fairfield Academy aims to provide a world-class education for children aged 3–11, with a rich, inspiring curriculum and a strong emphasis on aspirations, achievement and personal development. The school prioritises engaging learning, social and moral values, and opportunities to meet elite athletes, writers and musicians through the Trust.

Curriculum Highlights

Foundation Stage, Infants (Year 1 & 2) and Juniors (Years 3–6) form three stages: Foundation Stage, KS1, KS2; Read Write Inc used to support early reading; Big Cat Collins bridging library in KS2; National Curriculum core subjects (English, Maths, Science) and foundation subjects (Religious Education, Computing, Music, Design Technology, Art, History, Geography, Physical Education, PSHE); Modern Foreign Languages (French in KS2); Nursery/FS1 & Reception/FS2 structure; topic-based cross-curricular learning; emphasis on active, enquiry-led learning; Read Write Inc phonics in early years; weekly and termly curriculum overviews and reading lists (DRET READS).

Wraparound Care

Breakfast club starts at 7:50am with toast provided; After school club runs 3:15pm–6:00pm (fees vary from £5 for 4:30pm finish to £9 for 6:00pm finish); a snack is suggested though fruit is available; bookings are made via the MCAS app; popular sessions; recommended early booking.

Breakfast club: £3.50 per child; After school club: £5 (4:30pm finish) to £9 (6:00pm finish); School meals (Reception to Year 2) are free under Universal Free School Meals; Dinners: £2.70 per day; Nursery 15 hours free childcare; 30 hours free childcare for eligible; 3-year-old funding rules apply; If not eligible, nursery sessions cost £20 per half day or £40 for a full day; wraparound care is available from 7:50am to 6pm at additional cost.
