Twickenham Primary School follows the Birmingham Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education (2022). The dispositions promote a flourishing personal, spiritual and moral character, and pupils study the nine major religions (Bahá’í, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Rastafari, Sikhism) as well as established non-religious worldviews such as atheism, humanism and secularism. Withdrawal from RE is allowed. The curriculum includes visits to places of worship and aims to promote understanding of different beliefs and perspectives.

Admission policy: Nursery admissions occur at the beginning of the academic year in which children turn four. Reception has an agreed intake of 60 pupils per year; up to 60 pupils are admitted if applications exceed or do not exceed the number. Oversubscription criteria (in order): looked-after children or those who were looked after but are now adopted or under special guardianship; siblings attending the Academy; children attending the Nursery on a full-time basis at the time of application; twins or multiple births; other children by distance from the Academy, measured to the main entrance. Random allocation used as a tie-break if distances are equal. There is no catchment area; parents are advised to register for Nursery after their child’s second birthday; a waiting list is kept for all year groups.
