Head Teacher's Message

Headteacher Suzie Ottewell welcomes visitors to St Matthew’s, a modern church school opened in 2016 and part of St Christopher’s Multi Academy Trust. She highlights a Christian vision and high aspirations for pupils, a strong focus on academic achievement and personal development, a thriving range of extra-curricular activities, and an open-door approach to parent involvement.

Wraparound Care

Wraparound care is available from 7:30am to 5:45pm; Breakfast Club operates from 7:30am until the start of the school day; After School Club runs from 3:30pm (Mon-Thu) and 3:00pm on Fridays to 6:00pm; enrichment clubs run on Friday afternoons.

Admissions Criteria

St Christopher’s Multi Academy Trust is the admissions authority for our school. Applications are handled through Plymouth City Council. Reception places are offered to start in Reception at the beginning of the September term after the child’s fourth birthday; there is an in-year admissions process per policy. Our admissions policies for 2025-26, 2026-27 and 2027-28 are published for consultation/determination.
