Ethos & Values

"Achieve Together in Love and Faith"

Faith Hope Charity Human Dignity Community and Participation Care for Creation Dignity in Work Peace & Reconciliation Solidarity

As a Catholic school, Jesus Christ is central to all we do. Everything at St Maria Goretti is underpinned by the Gospel Values and our school mission statement, ‘Achieve Together in Love and Faith’ permeates throughout the school. The Catholic RE scheme ‘Living and Growing as the People of God’ is followed, with liturgies, sacramental preparation for Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation, and Parish involvement. The school emphasises Catholic Social Teaching themes: Human Dignity, Community and Participation, Care for Creation, Dignity in Work, Peace & Reconciliation, Solidarity, and holds to the three virtues of faith, hope and charity. Daily collective worship and various religious activities are part of school life, with Mass led by classes termly and ongoing parish engagement.
