Ethos & Values

We care passionately about the education and welfare of young people We believe that all young people, irrespective of background or ability will be successful in our Trust We are not and will never be selective. We believe that local schools are for all children We are always inclusive. Our mechanisms to support the most vulnerable child to succeed and overcome barriers to learning are a key aspect of our work Our approach to education recognises that outcomes are paramount and also allows children to gain experiences and values which prepare them fully for life in modern Britain. This includes workplace skills and appropriate advice for future progression We have high expectations of behaviour We adopt the local authority admissions protocol and work closely with them We would always wish to act in such a way that has a positive effect on a neighbouring school or community. We care passionately about children in all schools, not just our own That all employees act with integrity and embrace the value that ‘we are the Trust’ We work regionally and nationally to develop approaches to MAT improvement that influence the wider school-led system

Head Teacher's Message

Abbey Park is an academy that children, parents, staff and academy council members are proud of. It provides a warm and caring environment where all feel welcomed and valued. The Principal aims for every child to achieve the best possible outcomes regardless of starting point, emphasising relationships, mutual respect and a well-balanced, engaging curriculum designed to meet the needs of all learners.

Curriculum Highlights

The curriculum begins in Nursery/Reception and introduces essential knowledge, skills and understanding to prepare for Year 7 and beyond Subjects are organised into individual disciplines (art, geography, history, etc.) to enable precise planning The curriculum is built on the three ‘E’s’: entitlement, enrichment and element, to structure learning Retrieval practice forms part of regular teaching to secure long-term knowledge Knowledge is empowering and foundational to successful learning

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

Wraparound care (Tea Club provision) is being introduced; the academy is recruiting 2 Tea Club assistants to staff the provision, and if recruitment is successful, the provision is hoped to open from 13th April 2026.
