Welcome to Canklow Woods Primary School, where every child’s journey to success begins. Our dedicated staff are committed to providing an education that goes above and beyond, inspiring learning and igniting curiosity.
The school uses a graduated Assess-Plan-Do-Review model to identify and meet learning needs, with Class Teachers and the SENCO coordinating support. Regular progress checks and termly review meetings involve parents. Interventions include Learning Support Programme (Intensive 1-1 maths and literacy), Talk Boost, Better Reading (1-1 reading support), First Class at Number (numeracy intervention), Read, Write, Inc, and Precision Teaching. Through collaboration with the Rotherham Specialist Inclusion Team, staff can receive advice on dyslexia, dyscalculia, speech and language delay, and autism. External services may include Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, CAMHS, Portage, School Nursing, Early Help, and Aspire Outreach Team. The White Woods Academy Trust provides pooled SEND resources and staff development. Two full‑time Learning Mentors provide pastoral and emotional support.
