Welcome to Break Through School. We are a small alternative independent school offering a personalised and well-rounded approach to education to young people aged 11-17.
Clubs
Sports
Breakfast club in the mornings; after-school clubs and enrichment sessions; enrichment series on Friday afternoons; holiday enrichment opportunities; PAD training (boxing) and 1:1 academic support available depending on demand.
All learners have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) prepared by the SENDCo, with biweekly reviews by teachers; SENDCo and wider SLT review applications and determine offers; the school supports Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and can arrange assessments/interventions from outside agencies; two Speech & Language Therapists attend onsite (on-site therapy), and Kent Counselling Service counsellors attend onsite three days a week; additional daily interventions and therapies including walks and talks, drawing, Pads, and in-class support.
Break Through School serves learners aged 11–16 with SEND (primarily SEMH and/or communication difficulties). Learners can join at any time during the school year and will follow a personalised curriculum package. EHCPs are prioritized; if a learner does not yet have an EHCP, they may undergo the Education Health and Care Assessment Request (ECHAR) process. The Admissions Policy outlines the formal process for reading offers and placement, with consideration of capacity.
