The curriculum is broad, balanced and personalised to be meaningful for our children. The curriculum is skills and knowledge based to enable children to communicate effectively and develop enquiring minds. PRIDE values underpin and permeate the curriculum to empower lifelong skills.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

Wraparound care is provided in partnership with Dainty Little Hands. Breakfast Club opens at 7:45am; After School Club opens at 3:15pm. Pricing: Breakfast £4.25 for the hour before school; After School £4.25 until 4:30pm or £8.50 until 6:00pm. Age range: all nursery to Year 6. SEND Provision

The Rainforest Room provision provides the highest levels of SEN with an individual curriculum and provision that is separate, but equal to the mainstream curriculum. The SEN provision includes specialist practices such as Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Intensive Interaction, TalkAbout Autism Intervention, Pastoral Support, and other interventions. The teaching day is planned by the SENDCo with a team of trained staff to ensure access to a broad and ambitious curriculum and inclusive practices.

Admissions Criteria

Grestone Academy is a 3–11 years Nursery and Primary Academy and is part of the Hamstead Hall Academy Trust. It has a Published Admissions Number of 60 pupils per year group in Reception to Year 6. The maximum on roll is 480; Nursery has up to 52 places; Year 6 has 90 places; Reception–Year 5 has 60 places. Oversubscription criteria: 1) Looked After Children; 2) Children with a brother or sister already at the academy who are still in attendance (sibling priority for future Reception if a current Year 6 child would still be attending); 3) Children that live nearest to the academy (distance-based priority within each category). Appeals information is provided, with guidance to contact Birmingham City Council where applicable.
