Queen Eleanor Primary Academy is described as a welcoming and ambitious school in Northampton, valuing diversity and establishing high aspirations for all pupils. The Headteacher emphasises creating an environment where pupils are inspired to learn, equipped to succeed, and able to excel in all aspects of life. As a Creative Education Trust school, there is a strong emphasis on creativity and a broad, relevant curriculum designed to teach skills for the future. Curriculum Highlights

EYFS progression with a broad, relevant curriculum focusing on speaking, listening, reading, writing, maths and knowledge of the world Oracy emphasises vocabulary and sentence structures to support thinking and cross-topic connections Reading and phonics taught with Read Write Inc., supplemented by rich texts to develop vocabulary and comprehension KS2 Reading Pro uses Reading Pro to determine lexile reading levels with termly reassessment and matching of books to reading ability Writing taught through core texts to develop reading and writing skills and use of handwriting, spelling, grammar and punctuation Mathematics taught using a concrete-pictorial-abstract approach with manipulatives and precise mathematical language Home learning includes Weekly tasks via Class Dojo; Mathletics, Times Tables Rockstars, Numbots and Reading Pro; occasional quizzes Special Educational Needs provision through SENCo and support staff with a range of resources to support learning Curriculum maps available for EYFS Nursery, EYFS Reception, Year 1–6, Forest School Curriculum, and Music Plan QEP

SEND Provision

Queen Eleanor Primary Academy provides for pupils with SEND via the school’s commitment to an entitlement to a broad and meaningful curriculum. The school uses a Graduated Approach (Assess, Plan, Do, Review) with involvement from the SENDCo and support staff, and may seek advice from external professionals such as Educational Psychologists, SEND Support Services, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Health Therapists, Physiotherapists, a Community Paediatrician, Visual or Hearing Impairment specialists, Mental Health Support Team, and JoGo Behaviour Support Team. The local authority can carry out an Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment, and families can access Information, Advice and Support Services for SEND (IASS) and the Local Offer. Admissions Criteria

Applications for Reception to Year 6 are made via West Northamptonshire Council. Admissions arrangements follow the Creative Education Trust policies and West Northamptonshire Council procedures. Nursery admissions are handled directly by the school.
