SEND Provision

The SEN department provides inclusive mainstream teaching with additional support as needed, and works with external services. The department includes an Inclusion Team Lead (SENCO KS3), SENCO KS4, Assistant SENCO, and Teaching Assistants. It collaborates with Language and Learning Support Service, Educational Psychology Service, ASD Support Specialist, Speech and Language Therapy Service, CAHMS, and the school’s pastoral teams. The SENCO has responsibility for Exam Access Arrangements testing, catch-up reading and numeracy. All teachers are considered teachers of SEN, and the SEN Information Report, SEN Policy, and related documents are updated regularly.

Oversubscription criteria (in order) include: 1) Children in Local Authority Care or previously looked after; 2) Current Family Association (e.g., a brother/sister attending the school); 3) Health and Special Access Reasons; 4) Distance from home to school (straight-line measurement); 5) Service personnel with a confirmed posting or crown servants; 6) Other relevant criteria with tie-breaker being nearness or random allocation.
