Resource Base for Deaf Pupils (RBDP) provides specialist support for deaf pupils, including a team of Teachers of the Deaf, a Specialist Tutor, Educational Communicators and Specialist Learning Support Assistants. Communication support may include British Sign Language, Sign Supported English or Signed English. The Resource Base is in the main school building and consists of acoustically treated rooms for tutorials, mentoring and audiological monitoring of hearing aids, cochlear implants and radio aids. Staff include the Resource Base team and a Clerical Assistant. The provision aims to enable pupils to access the mainstream curriculum with additional support as needed.
