Tabor Academy follows the Essex County Council admissions process for transfer from primary to secondary. For Year 7, students will have an interview with the Achievement Team Leader and Year Care Team prior to joining; a CATS test and a Reading test are conducted in their first week to ensure appropriate placement and support. Information events are held for feeder primary schools; a parental information evening is usually held in early July; Year 7 pupils spend a day in July prior to September. Sixth Form admissions involve Year 11 students applying with conditional offers based on General Entry Requirements, with some subjects carrying specific entry requirements; external candidates must submit an application and a reference; applications for external candidates should be returned by 30 January 2026.
