A warm welcome from the Head of School describes Upminster Infant School as a warm and friendly three-form-entry school that aims to provide a caring, vibrant and successful learning environment, with high expectations to help children achieve and enjoy learning in a supportive and stimulating setting.
The school provides SEND and Local Offer information via the Hornchurch Academy Trust SEND and Inclusion policy, the SEND Information Report, accessibility plan, equality information and the Havering Local Offer. It also lists a Local SEND Lead and a SEND and Inclusion policy, with a complaints procedure for SEND.
Admissions are managed by Havering Local Authority. Upminster Infant School is part of the Hornchurch Academy Trust and admits up to 90 pupils each year in a three-form entry. Applications for Reception in September are made via the home Local Authority (Havering residents should use www.eadmissions.org.uk). Information for in-year transfers is available through Havering. There is no longer an automatic transfer to Upminster Junior School; online applications are required by 15 January (year of intake). Priority is given to Looked After and Previously Looked After pupils on transfer considerations.
