Headteacher Mr Ed Petrie welcomes readers to Holywell, describing it as a special place where kindness, mutual respect and outstanding teaching underpin a broad, vibrant curriculum and exciting enrichment opportunities, with children at the centre of all decisions.

well-equipped cookery area technology and art areas multifunctional suite withdrawal rooms for small group work and counselling activities kiln room music room for music lessons two halls which can be merged to make one very large hall well resourced school library welcoming office and reception area Foundation Stage unit opened in 2016 own kitchens on site, cooking high quality, nutritious food at lunchtimes for our children extensive grounds, including a very large school field with a pavilion for pupils to change in three playgrounds a school garden for classes to use a maze sun shelters on both the main playgrounds a ‘Zone’ for extended play activities at lunchtime a pirate ship for the younger children a very long trim trail our own school wood for outdoor learning

SEND Provision

SENDCo is Mrs Sleight; provision includes ELSA (Emotional Learning Support), Wellbeing & Behaviour Management Mentor, School Nurse Service, and other wellbeing supports as part of SEND provision.

Admissions Criteria

Holywell does not follow the Local Authority policy on the number of admissions per year group; has a capacity of 60 pupils per cohort; all applications must be submitted to Leicestershire County Council Admissions Department; oversubscription appeals are managed by Leicestershire County Council.
