Head Teacher welcomes families and describes a vibrant school where children are enthusiastic, happy and confident, with decisions centered on their needs and opportunities for the future.

Curriculum Highlights

CARES values run as a golden thread through the curriculum – Creativity, Aspiration, Respect, Excellence and Supportive. Curriculum is underpinned by the National Curriculum with knowledge sequenced to build on prior learning. Strong emphasis on Reading, Writing and Numeracy. Curriculum includes a strong focus on personal development and social skills to help students form healthy relationships. Teaching and Learning principles include starting with a review of learning, teaching in small steps, clear instructions, open-ended questions, active practice, modelling, timely feedback and use of high-quality resources. Regular assessment, including formative and summative methods, with targeted interventions to support all pupils. Curriculum leadership includes monitoring by Subject Leaders, lesson visits, work scrutiny and pupil discussions, with regular CPD for staff.
