SEND Provision

SEND provision is described as Wave 1 universal provision by all teachers, with Wave 2 interventions focusing on reading, Mathematics and spelling for those below age-related expectations, and Wave 3 more in-depth support (e.g., spelling, behaviour, speech). The Learning Suite provides one-to-one or small group teaching with Teaching Assistants and qualified staff. There are referrals and clinics with outside agencies (e.g., Hearing Impairment Team, Speech and Language Advisors) and access to trained counsellors and mentors where needed. Parents / carers and students have regular planning and review meetings via My Plan / My Plan+ documents. The SEN Inclusion Lead, SENCo and team coordinate support, and information is shared with staff via confidential bulletins and My Plans. Progress is tracked through progression reviews and targeted intervention as needed.
