Head Teacher's Message

Principal’s welcome from Mrs C. Boothroyd highlights Hawes Side Academy as a larger-than-average primary school in Blackpool with a history dating to 1937, academy status since 2012, a new state-of-the-art building opened in 2016, and a mission to help children flourish academically, socially and personally through strong community partnerships and open communication. Visitors are invited to arrange a tour.

Breakfast and After School Club provisions are staffed by members of our Learning Support and Welfare teams. The clubs are overseen by Mrs Angie Scott. Finance and bookings are managed by Mrs Sue Scholes.

Hawes Side Academy publishes an SEN Information Report and Local Offer; SENCo is Miss Jenny Ward; outlines four broad areas of need and the types of support (Quality First Teaching, targeted group/individual support, involvement of outside agencies, EHCP process); describes accessibility and safeguarding commitments; includes Anti-bullying policies and safeguarding procedures.
