SEND Provision

Arrow Vale’s Learning Support Department provides an inclusive, nurturing environment for learners with diverse needs. The SENCo and a Director of SEND oversee provision, supported by a team including HLTA and Achievement Assistants. The department offers differentiated lessons, a ‘Key Worker’ role for some SEND and disabled students, and extensive collaboration with outside agencies. Resources include Dyslexia Friendly books, the Learning Resource Centre (LRC), and exam access arrangements considered with medical evidence. The Discover Plus programme is available in Year 9, there are break and lunchtime clubs, and the LRC is open after school for homework support (3:00–3:45). External SEN services referenced include SENDIASS, CAMHS, and other local specialists.
