SEND Provision

The SEN team at Knutsford Academy is committed to ensuring that students with additional needs are supported daily. The team includes a SENCO and HLTA Intervention Manager in an Inclusion Resource Centre, working with Learning Support Assistants (LSAs). There are three categories of need: First Concerns, SEN Support, and Educational Health and Care Plans. Intervention programmes can include differentiated teaching, discrete literacy and numeracy programmes, 1-to-1 GCSE tuition for SEN LAC students, access to a reading/spelling support website (idlcloud.co.uk), and other supports such as speech and language therapy, medical accommodation, and breakfast or homework clubs. The team also tracks progress and adjusts provisions as needed and follows JCQ regulations for exam access arrangements.

Admissions Criteria

Year 7 admissions are handled by the student’s home Local Authority. The final date for applications is the end of October. Appeals timetable will be published by 28 February each year. In-Year admissions are handled with contact through named staff (Mr C Parr for Year 7 queries and Mr C Leigh for spaces in relevant year). The Learning Partnership is the Admissions Authority for Knutsford Academy.
