Curriculum Highlights

Reading is the bedrock of the curriculum and is integrated across subjects. Core reading strategies taught: Prediction, Questioning, Clarification, Summarisation. Library lessons at KS3 and library access for KS4/KS5 for study and reading for pleasure. Interdisciplinary reading that connects texts to different disciplines and contexts. Admissions Criteria

The Laurus Trust is the Admissions Authority for Cheadle Hulme High School and is responsible for taking decisions on applications for admissions. The Laurus Trust has elected to use Stockport MBC’s admission process, therefore the co-ordination and administration of admissions is undertaken by the Local Authority. For September 2026 entry into Year 7: Applications are made using the Local Authority form; Stockport Local Authority’s application portal opens in mid August 2025 and the deadline for applications is 31 October 2025. Offer day is 2 March 2026. For in-year admissions to all year groups, applications must be made to the Local Authority’s Admissions Support and Advice Team.
