Curriculum Highlights

Majority of students are entered for the English Baccalaureate at the end of Year 11 as part of an academically broad and balanced curriculum Subjects taught at Key Stage 3 include a broad range of subjects in Years 7–9; GCSE English Language, English Literature, Maths and Science (2 or 3) plus History or Geography and French; two option subjects in sport, arts or technology or vocational subjects; Religious Studies may be taken GCSE structure includes English Language, English Literature, Maths, Science (2 or 3), History or Geography, French, 2 option subjects, and RS (optional)

Admissions Criteria

FSD follows the Durham County admissions process. In-year admissions are handled by contacting Durham County Council; transition/Year 6 admissions are coordinated with a transition programme and visits arranged; prospective parents can visit and are advised to follow the Durham County Council admissions process.
