"PACE – Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy"
The Avenue Special Needs Academy is a day special school for children aged 2 - 19 with complex Special Educational Needs. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan. All pupils will have at least a Severe Learning Difficulty and some will have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The school provides a bespoke and meaningful curriculum aligned with its ethos of PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy). It does not have the expertise to support pupils whose main barrier is SEMH. Consultations for places are handled through Local Authority SEND teams. The school is currently over-capacity with no spaces for new pupils for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years; prospective parent tours are paused and transitions are typically via LA SEND Teams and termly admissions panels.
