Ethos & Values

Wisdom Compassion Justice Humility Courage Integrity

Bishop Ramsey School is a Church of England school where worship is central to school life. The Chapel lies at the heart of the building, worship includes Morning Prayer and Communion Services, and the school follows the Church of England's vision for education based on John 10:10, Life in all its fullness. The school aims to nurture character through the Virtue Project, focusing on Wisdom, Courage, Compassion, Justice, Humility and Integrity, and encourages honest enquiry in the search for religious truth and integrity.

Head Teacher's Message

Headteacher Malcolm Britton welcomes all to Bishop Ramsey School, emphasising that it is a Christian learning community rooted in loving, learning and living, and aims to nurture compassionate, courageous and wise young people within a faith-informed environment.

Curriculum Highlights

The curriculum is knowledge-rich and sequenced to build subject knowledge (mastery). Each subject has an intent statement, and sequencing is reviewed annually by subject teams. Retrieval practice is embedded across Schemes of Learning. Live marking, corrections in class and whole-class feedback are used to help students learn more and remember more. Staff are encouraged to develop pedagogical content knowledge and to improve curriculum sequencing and explanations.

SEND Provision

The school has an Access & Inclusion (SEND) provision with a SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator).
