Ethos & Values

Honesty Loyalty Integrity Respect Democracy

In Religious Studies we look at the rule of law and how this may be contrasted with religious rules or moral precepts. We also explore the idea of non-Christian faiths in the UK, and how the idea of freedom of religion and expression may arise as part of the rights of an individual. We address the Equality Act, and the importance of having respect for others even if they hold different views. Students study leaders such as Martin Luther King who campaigned for equality in civil rights, and Malala Yousafzi who fought against suppression of young people and the right for all children to be educated.
