The Thomas Aveling School uses Determined Admission Arrangements with no catchment area. The furthest distance from which the school can admit changes each year based on factors including pupils with LAC status, SEN pupils with an EHCP naming Thomas Aveling, siblings of current students, and pupils living in the Borstal access area. After applying these oversubscription criteria, applications are ranked by distance from the school. The Local Authority allocates spaces, and National Offer Day is 2 March 2026 with deadlines for acceptance and appeals as stated on the admissions pages.
