SEND Provision

We take a holistic approach to SEND with the SENCO working with teachers to identify needs early and assess which interventions or specialist support are required. We monitor progress using the ‘Assess, Plan, Do, Review’ model to ensure support is appropriately pitched, targeted and personalised. Support focuses on the whole child, including social and emotional skills, growth mindset, self-esteem, life skills and wellbeing. Pupils with additional needs receive the same high-quality teaching input from their class teacher, though they may work on different targets. Ark Atwood has adopted the Ark Start EYFS Curriculum and provides resources such as Westminster’s Local Offer for SEND, the Bi-Borough Communication Hub, the Atwood SEND Information Report and the Ark Atwood SEND Handbook 2023-24.
