Curriculum Highlights

Challenge lies at the heart of the curriculum. It is inclusive and knowledge-rich, with high-quality teaching and a broad range of subjects. The curriculum is fully planned and sequenced to build knowledge and skills toward ambitious end points. Reading and wider literacy skills are a key thread that runs through the curriculum across all subjects. Personal development, including Careers Education and PSHE, is central to the curriculum; there is a strong emphasis on lifelong learning. Homework and summative assessment are designed to promote regular review and spaced practice for long-term retention. The school emphasises breadth of curriculum and high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3–5, with a wide range of Sixth Form A Level options.

Admissions Criteria

To gain entry to Year 7, all pupils must sit and gain a qualifying rank in the Gloucestershire Grammar Schools Entrance Test. In-year admissions for Year 8 to Year 11 can be made and should be directed to the Admissions Officer by submitting an In-Year Application Form to [email protected].
