The Principal welcomes readers to Whitburn Church of England Academy, emphasising the school’s motto “Excellence for All,” inclusive education, high GCSE and Sixth Form results, Mandarin provision, strong extra-curricular life, and a commitment to developing students as confident, articulate, and thoughtful individuals.

Curriculum Highlights

Pupils study a broad range of subjects at Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 curriculum is ambitious with separate sciences, history, geography and modern foreign languages Pupils achieve well in EBacc subjects such as science, modern foreign languages and the humanities Additional options, such as sociology and Mandarin

Admissions Criteria

In-Year admissions are coordinated by South Tyneside Council; there is no faith criterion in the Academy's admission policy; if a place is available, admission will be within 20 school days; the Local Authority will notify and the Academy will liaise to confirm residence; if a place is not available, the Local Authority will issue an appeal pack and papers; for appeals, contact Mrs T Lennox (Principal’s PA) via the Main School Office.
