Curriculum Highlights

Key Stage 3: in Years 7–9 students study Art, Computing, Drama, English, two languages from French, German and Mandarin (Spanish starts in Year 9), Geography, History, Mathematics, Music, Personal Development (including Life Skills), Physical Education and Games, PTE (Religious Education) and Science. Tuesday afternoons (TPM) provide enrichment activities such as climbing, origami, bushcraft, etc. Key Stage 4: core curriculum of English Literature, English Language, Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics; students choose four option subjects from Art, Business, Computing, Drama, French, Geography, German, History, Mandarin, Music, Philosophy/Theology and Ethics (PTE), Physical Education, Spanish, plus non-examined subjects like Personal Development Curriculum (PDC), Technology & Design, Core PTE and Games. Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form): four A Level subjects typically at start (with some taking five in exceptional cases), plus an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and an Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) programme that supports progression to university or other pathways; a wide range of enrichment and super-curricular activities is offered. Sixth Form subjects currently on offer include Art, Biology, Chemistry, Computing, Drama & Theatre, Economics, English, French, Geography, German, History, Maths, Further Maths, Music, Philosophy, Physical Education, Physics, Politics and Spanish.

SEND Provision

SEND Team acts as a bridge between academic and pastoral care by supporting early-identification and appropriate support. Students identified as having SEND are supported on to the Gloucestershire SEND Graduated Pathway with a Student Support Passport; EHCPs are reviewed annually; Access Arrangements for exams can be arranged; collaboration with external agencies and the Local Authority as appropriate.

Admissions Criteria

Year 7 entry uses GL Assessment entrance test; main registration window for 2026 entry closed; the test provider for Year 7 entry is GL Assessment with familiarisation materials available; In-Year admissions are tested if a place becomes available; Appeals process available; Sixth Form admissions have a separate process.
